Share the Road's Bicycle Friendly Communities (BFC) Program provides a roadmap and recognition for communities as they work to make cycling a transportation and recreation option for all residents and visitors. The term "community" refers to municipalities (e.g., town, city or county).

Share the Road administers the BFC program for communities all across Canada, with the exception of Québec. Any applicants from Québec should apply to the BFC program administered by Vélo Québec.

The 2024 BFC application deadline is August 2.
